Your license key from the Lemon Squeezy receipt email.
A Claude account on any plan (Free, Pro or Max). ChatGPT and Codex also work, and their steps are further down.
The connector URL, which is the same for every AI client:
https://vbb.genaiunplugged.com/mcp
Step 1
Check you are using 1 Claude account
Read this first. It is the most common reason setup fails.
Many people are signed in to Claude with 1 account in the desktop app and a different account in their browser. For example a work email in the app and a personal Gmail in Chrome.
The connect step always finishes in your browser. So if the two accounts differ, the connector gets attached to the browser's account, and the app you started from keeps saying it is not connected. You get no error message, which is why people lose 10 minutes here.
How to check
Open the Claude desktop app. Click your name in the bottom-left corner and read the email address shown there.
Open claude.ai in your browser. Click your name in the bottom-left corner and read the email address there too.
The two addresses must be exactly the same.
If they are different
Decide which account you want to use. Pick the one on the plan you pay for.
In the place that has the other account, click your name, choose Log out, and sign back in with the account you picked.
If you only use Claude in the browser, or only in the app, you have 1 account in play and can skip this step.
Use more than 1 browser or browser profile? The connect page opens in your default browser. Check the account in that one.
Step 2
Find your license key
Open the receipt email from Lemon Squeezy. The subject mentions Visual Brand Blueprint.
Copy the license key. It looks like XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX.
Copy the whole key with no space before or after it.
The key is also on the Lemon Squeezy confirmation page you saw right after buying. You paste it once, in step 4.
Step 3
Add the connector
Pick the AI you use. Claude gives the best experience today.
These steps are the same in the Claude desktop app and on claude.ai.
Click your name in the bottom-left corner and open Settings.
Open Connectors.
Click Add custom connector.
Give it a name you will recognise, such as Visual Brand Blueprint.
Paste the connector URL from the top of this page, then click Add.
Find Visual Brand Blueprint in your connector list and click Connect. A page opens in your browser. That is step 4.
Works on Claude Free, Pro and Max. If you do not see Add custom connector, update the Claude app or use claude.ai in a browser.
In ChatGPT on a paid plan, open Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced and turn on Developer Mode.
Click Create, paste the connector URL from the top of this page, and authorize.
A page opens in your browser. That is step 4.
ChatGPT custom connectors need a paid plan with Developer Mode for now. The same account rule applies: the browser that opens must be signed in to the ChatGPT account you are connecting.
The second command opens a page in your browser. That is step 4.
Step 4
Paste your license key
The page that opened is titled Connect Visual Brand Blueprint. It has 1 field, labelled License key.
Paste your key and click Connect.
You see You're connected, and the page sends you back to your AI. If it does not move on its own, click Continue.
There is no password and no account to create with us. The license key is the only thing we ask for.
Step 5
Check it is connected
Go back to Settings → Connectors in Claude.
Visual Brand Blueprint shows as connected, with its tools listed underneath.
Started in the desktop app? Look there, too. If the app still shows Connect while the browser shows it connected, you have the two-account mix-up. Go back to step 1, fix the account, then click Connect again.
Step 6
Start your build
Open a new chat.
Type start my visual brand blueprint and send it.
Claude may ask permission to use the Visual Brand Blueprint tools. Choose Always allow so it does not ask at every step.
Answer 1 question at a time.
What to expect
Time. A full build takes 45 to 60 minutes: 16 interview questions, then your colours, your style, your rules and your deliverables.
You can stop and come back. Your build is kept for 7 days. Open a new chat, type start my visual brand blueprint again, and it offers to pick up where you left off. Many people do the interview one day and the deliverables the next.
Visual steps appear inside the chat. The sliders, the colour palettes, the style board and your reference sheet show up as small panels. Where you see an Expand button on a panel, it opens the panel full size.
You are asked before anything is locked in. When Claude is waiting on you, its message ends with a question that says what to reply. A plain yes is enough to move on.
Your colours are yours. Want a specific colour in your palette? Say so at any point. You get an honest opinion on how it fits, and then it goes in if you still want it.
What your license includes
Builds: there is no limit on how many times you run the Blueprint.
Images: up to 20 generated images per build. A reference sheet uses 3 of them, because you get 3 variations to choose from.
Connections: your license can be connected in up to 3 places, for example Claude and ChatGPT.
If something goes wrong
I added the connector but Claude says it is not connected
This is the two-account mix-up from step 1. Your browser and your desktop app are signed in to different Claude accounts. Make them the same account, then click Connect again.
My license key will not validate
Copy the full key from your Lemon Squeezy receipt with no extra spaces, and make sure the purchase completed. Still stuck? Email support@genaiunplugged.com with your receipt.
It connects but shows no tools
Remove the connector and add it again, and finish the license page this time. A half-finished connect leaves the connector in the list with nothing behind it.
It is stuck mid-login on Claude desktop, Claude Code or Codex
An earlier attempt is usually still cached. Clear it and reconnect.
macOS / Linux:rm -rf ~/.mcp-auth Windows (PowerShell):Remove-Item -Recurse -Force "$env:USERPROFILE\.mcp-auth"
I cannot see my images
Your reference sheet shows as a panel in the chat with all 3 variations. If the panel does not load, ask Claude to show the image links. Every image also has its own permanent link, and they all appear on your brand board at the end.
A panel looks cut off or scrolls inside itself
Click Expand on the panel if you see it, which opens it full size. If there is no Expand button, scroll inside the panel to reach the rest, and tell us at support@genaiunplugged.com which app you are on.
